Asuras have developed from asu-ra (Spirit) in a positive sense towards a-sura (non-God) status. This has to do with the gradual differentiating process of two kindred communities. The factual data are put then into a psychological scheme to fit in the endless Light-Darkness dichotomy. Hostility between two tribes (even from the same ancestry) can lead to a renaming of the Light-Darkness bipolarity: older names are replaced by the newer, which are based on actal experiences, in this case a tribal schism.
