Dear Vinaire, Basically I don't think to say anything else, but the words are somewhat differently used by me. I'm primarily verbalizing from the Sanskrit rootmeaning and intuitive meaning and try to find a modern word, which when used immediately shows it's unacquaintancy compared with the Sanskrit original. I use the word creation in the sense of a changing effect, which must have a cause, so did exist already, but differently, 'unchanging'. This applies for everything. That's why I'm repeating that what has become, has to be before becoming. It thus also applies to Prakrti, and here I differ slightly with you: Prakrti is not created. When moving out of rest it is Pr�krta=coming from Prakrti. (In Sanskrit when a word gets an guna or vrddhi extension=vowel getting an extra 'a' supplied, this second word is the effect of the first word.) I also didn't say that Purusha is created. Purusha is also present in the causal Brahman, just in the meaning you gave. Purusha and Prakrti are spoken of the moment they are agitated. Some give Icch� (from ish=to seek, getting to secondary meaning "will", 'inspiration' might be a more neutral meining) as the reason. So basically Brahman is "two in rest", but it is different from the two in agitation. What exactly Brahman is, as you also said before, that is beyond our comprehension, for that is a faculty of the agitative Brahman. This is why Ved�nta lay stress on the a-dvaita, not in the monistic sense but in the non-dual sense. And non-dual means dual but different from what is known. And the reason is that it has not the qualities or Gunas of effect. Nothing for me means no-thing. So it is something but different from what the other. Basically every technical negation in Sanskrit has this rootmeaning: In Sam�dhi in the Sa-biija process you have an a-samprajn�ta process. That is a samprajn�ta, but different from the other. The a-sampraj�ta is in between two sampraj�ta processes. The negation 'nir' in Nirbiija has approximately the same meaning. Now 'neti neti' is based on the same: neti = na-iti = not-this. But it is an 'iti', but different from the other 'iti' and without qualities or guna: Nirguna Brahman as related to Saguna Brahman. I would rather call Prakrti the creative potential and Purusha the creativity initiatory aspect of Brahman to use almost your definitions.
