Dear WiseFoolForum, With 'limiteness of Prakrti' I mean the limited nature of staying in one aggregate and (there are only 5 aggregate possibilities). Prakrti is as eternal as Purusha, but fastchanging. That change of nature is called Maya. She is still basically Prakrti, but the Purusha as narrowing Atman-Mind thinks that one of the five aggregates is the unchanging, eternal reality. Only the broad-minded Purusha as Paramatman realizes that Prakrti is in essence the same, but changing shapes. That is her nature in Saguna. And Purusha is changing perspective by identifying with the changes of Prakrti. That is Vasana. Eventually both are One, when not identifying with the changes and seeing that as absolute reality. In that Oneness Purusha=Prakrti, without attributes. The Vasanas are not anything of Prakrti alone. Vasana means "to let yourself stay in". It means identification basically. It is the Purusha which makes the identification, not Prakrti. Purusha makes the identification with the Relative Reality of Prakrti of being the Absolute Reality, which is an everchanging Maya or created aggregate. And that is Vasana or Relative Identification. The Oneness of both as Absolute Reality is done by Vairagya or Absolute identification: Vairagya means non-attached to the Relative Reality or the everchanging Maya-guna of Prakrti as the Absolute Reality. When the Vasana or Relative Identification is done by Atman with his Anu component then from that perspective of Identification he is Jiivatman. He then enjoyes according to his Paurusheya Dharman identity nature his Prakritika Karman movements. And Aham-tva or I-ness is then a reality. (called Asmita-Klesha by YogaSutra). It is up to the Atman component in Brahman to be optimal self-aware or not. If the Atman component is not Self-Aware, then his Anu component is in charge, led by an Non-Self-Aware human being. And that's is where the automatical functions of Nature are working This systems works according to the everchanging cycles. It works. But as human beings we are Atman + Anu, and when we are not Self-Aware, we still are Aware, and that influences the natural movements of nature. The Dharman in an Un-Self-Aware human being, not being led now, is influencing the Karman movements. Unled Dharman is like a steerless captain, who has the good equipment (Anu), and the facilties (Atman), but goes his own way without feedback from his Self. And this gives relative Bad Karman or bad movement in the Vasana-Identification process versus Vairagya -"Identification process". It makes the move from Aham-tva (Asmita) towards Mama-tva (Raga-Dvesha) and Dvandva (Abhinivesha: The body is the only real), thus further down in Maya-identification as the only reality. So Pravrtti or Adventure is the Path of Vasana Identity and Nivrtti or Return is the Path of Vairagya "Identity". And the Brahman is the one that doing the identifications and thus being Atman. In Vasana it is making Prakrti apart from himself, and in Vairagya it leaves behind this distance and making the Oneness again a Reality! |
