I agree with you about the respect part, Anu1586.

But I disagree about the conversion part. If you know the history of for instance Goa and other Portuguese colonies, it was certainly not "because the Hindus wanted to be converted".
The same didn't happen with the Hindus who were forcefully converted by Muslims.

The whole grieve of Hindus is just about this little fact of huge proportions being just shuffled away. Do you know how Hindus have been always, not only by non-Hindus, but also by Hindus themselves been knocked down with the TOLERANCE-VETO: Whenever Hindus have a voice of protest, just say 'veto' and their mouths are shut down. And then proceed with more intolerant behavior towards the tolerant knocked-down Hindus.

On one side Hindus were Veto-knocked on the other hand they were paralyzed with the knowledge of being denoted as intolerant.

How can you defend yourself properly when another person is very aggressive. That's the basic question of modern society. Just being polite doesn't help a bit. Because the aggressor is not polite at all.

The governments and all institutions should start to re-educate the people. But no government has the same values.
Politics in religion and society is about respect for power and money and not about respect for diversity and tolerance, unfortunately. A global agreement is needed on basic human rights. And that is even on paper not an easy task, let alone when the execution or persecution is involved in practice. Because we have on the one side ( multi- or sub-)cultural rules and on the other the administrative.
Is global tolerance an utopia? I
