I think the better leader for Palestinians would be Hanan Ashrawi, because she hasn't a violent past, like terrorists like Arafat. But unfortunately for the Palestinians, she's a woman and also a Christian. But that she's very patriottic is easily forgotten. How crazy and criminal Sharon is, at least he's willing to accept a Palestinian state. But Netanyahu who's getting more and more support would even deny that. What strucks me most about the Palestinian dilemma is that small groups either side wouldn't accept peace, because that's their way of living and their status (power). They're maybe afraid to become insignificant when there's peace. Arafat started his Intifada whenever he could downgrade a moderate Israelian politician, as in the case of Peres and Barak. So it's very obvious that Arafat doens't really want peace. How could he, when his whole life was dedicated to terroristic acts in the name of freedom. That region needs new and younger moderate people on the political peace platform with international backing.
