About Gods and Men For me, "when Gods (mostly Devas) and Men (M�nava) lived together" means that we have to do with two civilizations. For a certain time of period during the Great Flood the Manu kings (S�varn� Vansha) and the Deva kings (Aindra Vansha) lived side by side in the Himalayas, according to the Vishnu Pur�na. When Ikshv�ku M�nava became the first emperor of India, the M�nava became the rulers and the Devas (Aindra Vansha) the advisors till they vanished and became gradually deified.
