Maybe many Indians aren't really used to be proud anymore, due to the attitude of political correctness and British gentlemanness, copied from British time, and cultivated during Congress period.
We mustn't forget the impact of British educational system till now. What is learned is still their legacy. The were in a way totalitarian rulers. The Congress added much with their marxist corrupt bureaucracy.
So India is relatively still a rooky as a modern free nation. Compared to other countries like the former Soviet countries, even dealing better.

The aggressive Muslim attitude is a serious problem. It would be nice if someone in the cabinet would dare to change the constitution on religious affairs, which would be fair to Hindus, which would cut any funds if there would be anti-Indian activities detected, etc.
The media is also a huge problem. Some of them are far from being in the national interest.

I repeat my remark elsewhere made: The foremost problem is not outside but inside India. Foreign elements can only make use of this weakness. There has to be rules what is in the national interest (security) and what not.
And if dealt with punishments, one has to be strict and not pardon traitors.
