That's right, AK. Hindu scriptures have a fluid nature and adapt easily new data to ancient, universal and eternal concepts. Though something can be said about the historicity of the characters and the storyline, the phenomenon they represent are those ancient, universal and eternal concepts. Hindu saints work almost always with three basical levels: adhibhautika (physical, 3-dimensional), adhidaivika (subtle, 4th dimension) and adhy�tmika (causal, 5th dimension). That's why there can be multilayered interpretations.
