Re: On-line Gayatri Mantra [Re: GuruDas]

That is sheer nonsense. Mantras are meant for the Mana (in the meaning of antahkarana or inner) of Man-kind in relation to its Source. The first and last (and highest) SadGuru is your own Antartman connected with Paramtman(meaning here Parabrahman).

The Mantra is the Shabda part of Nda-Brahman or Creation. A physical distinct SadGuru may be around. He's one who has the capacity to stimulate you and bring you to the root of your own beingness, close to Paramtman. That's his only function. But how many real physically outer SadGurus are there around? Just being in the line of some Parampara is not the essence of SadGuru-tva. The SadGuru has to be Sad, not his being part of a Parampara.

But what is better than doing it by your own if it's possible, which is the most direct way, without outer disturbances of the character of others? It is then between you and (Param)Atman/Brahman. That's why praying or Prrthan with Mantras (any kind of intention with sound, whether loud or quiet), especially with Vrata ekgrat, is the most direct and effective 'dialogue' with the Absolute. The rest is a ritualistic extension of Prrthan.
