Celibacy is not the same as Brahmacharya. Brahma-charya means to be on the path of Brahman. In the Ashrama system it is a phase before Grhastha, which automatically meant that one was not married. Yoga or Reunion may be attained through solitary (Man-tra), but also through partnership (Tan-tra). The key matter is around Retas energy (more Prakrti or Shakti) turning into Urdhva-Retas, so that the Ojas energy (more Purusha or Shiva) can be called upon. Then it's necessary to let this Ojas energy rain down on your whole existence to integrate every Linga and Alinga Shariira to fuse with (=neutralize Rupam) and Reunit with=Be your Svarupam. As there's a dual nature in Saguna, that duality may also be Reunited through a partner. That's the real base of spiritual partnership through the physical plane, which is the source for the K�maS�tra. Celibats have to compensate that part with the partner in themselves, which is a 'higher' though tougher path. (perhaps the identical partner isn't physical anymore).
